WIP Part 6: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam EW: Already standing

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 7Part 8 |

Just a small update before the Christmas day hits. I worked on to the Leg and Head Unit to make the Wing stand and celebrate Xmas with the boy band. What's left to do here are the decals which I will be doing last before finally closing the WIP with flat coat.

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 |

Now, here is the Update I was talking about on my recently acquired items. I am almost done with the Body, Waist, Arms Unit. Here's the list of what I have done on these parts:

1. Gloss Coat (Bosny No. 190)
2. Panel Wash + Initial Weathering (Black Enamel)
3. Polished the panel lines (Marker)
4. Polished the Weathering (Tamiya Weathering Master Set C)

Body Unit

Arms Unit

Should parts
What's left to do here is the markings and then finally sealing it with Flat Coat. But before that, I will do the other parts such as the Head, Legs, Backpack + Wings Units and Weaponry before finishing them all for final coat. That's it for now. Thanks for your time.

Package No.27

I already have a progress on my Wing WIP but I got busy this day so I wasn't able to continue the WIP. So much for that, another Bird has landed. This time its not a Gundam, its an RC Helicopter I recently bought. I have been eyeing for this since 2011 first with those Infrared RC Helicopter. Now, I had the chance to buy a much advanced RC Helicopter and I am pretty much excited on flying this thing.

Now about the packaging. It is not packed with a new box but it is bubble wrapped all the way. There is no damage at all on the actual box. But this package came late again just like my MG Proto Zero. I wonder why LBC now is always delayed on there deliveries?

I think I will be giving this Bird a review. I will run through the parts and accessories. Some of the flight preparation but before that I need to study/read the manual for proper flying even though I have been training on my simulator and studying on the internet on how does my Bird fly. That's it for now. Thanks for your time.

Package No.26

Finally, the Bird has Landed! This was released in October and I waited till November before it came to the Philippines and then being shipped to me. The shipping from the seller to my area took almost a week before it came. This is my first time having super delayed packages from LBC which supposedly a 1 day shipment only.

The one thing that I am worried about delayed packages is because it has a high chance for your package to be ruined upon transit. Gladly this one is perfectly boxed and bubble wrapped for strong packaging.

This package came last day and last night when I was about to blog this, a power interruption occurred and  wasn't be able to finish the post. So here it is now.

I'd love to build this ASAP but I haven't finished yet my current WIP the Wing EW. I am also quite busy on my job. Hopefully this Christmas break I can finally finish my pending WIP and move on to this one. That's it for now. Thanks for your time.

WIP Part 4: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam EW: Parts Preparation and Inner Frame Finished

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 |

This is a super late update on my Wing WIP. I was uploading this last November 8 early morning but I was caught by the power interruption when the time Super Typhoon entered the Philippines.

I prepared all the parts and kept them all in separate containers for easy navigation. I also finished the Inner frames details. I tried to assemble it, so I used the white parts for the arms unit just to make it.

How I apply Dry Brushing

I made this small tutorial on how I apply Dry Brushing for those who haven't tried dry brushing.

Here are the things you will be needing for this process.
Paint - I always use my Tamiya X-11 Chrome Silver for dry brushing
Paint Brush - much better if you use your old one because you will be intensively brushing it to the part which might ruin your brush if you will your new ones.
Paper - this is where you will be brushing first your paint brush to remove some excess paints before brushing it to the subject.
Lastly is the part you will be applying the Dry Brushing.

WIP Part 1: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam EW: Box Preview & Unboxing

Part 2 |  Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 |

It's about time to start working on this Kit. First is the Box Preview.

As you can see, the box art is uniform to the other Wing EW kits I already finished. The box suffered a lot of dents because of the handling of the shipping. The only difference on this Box art except for the subject itself are the Top and Bottom part. The Top shows the Bird Mode and the Bottom is the Mobile Suit which unlike with the other Box Art both Top and Bottom has the same layout.

WIP Part 7: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Deathscythe EW: [Finished]

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 |

Oh Yeah!, after a month long of slow progress on this WIP, finally it came to a conclusion. Though I wasn't be able to post the process of the WIP, I will just summarize it here on my last post for this project.

After the Part 6, here are the things that I have done up to the conclusion of the WIP:
1. Segregated the parts that I need to panel wash.
2. I applied Bosny No.190 Gloss Coat on those parts in preparation for the panel wash.
3. Panel washed it using Thinned Black Enamel with lighter fluid.
4. Initial weathering applied while doing the Panel wash.
5. Followed up the weathering using Tamiya Weathering Master. Gunmetal on the light colored parts and rust on the dark colored parts.
6. Fixed some panel lining with a Marker.
7. Applied the markings.
8. Flat Coated it for the Final Product.

You might be wondering why my weathering is not that balanced or looks too messy. The answer is that I did it on purpose. I don't want to be accurate on the weathering because I am portraying something that really looks like a messy Gundam that have gone in battles and suddenly retreated on their Hangar just to resupply and charge their units and be back to battle again. This is the 4th time I did it and I have never been accurate on anything in terms of weathering. Here are some pictures I took:

Package No.25

Hi guys, it's been a while since my last post in my blog. I have been doing the Deathscythe for some time already and it took me a lot of time doing it. This time I am not updating my WIP on the Deathscythe, I am updating my newly acquired items that I have been waiting for a long time. I bought this in a Japan base online store with the help of some friends who handled the items for me. This came this Monday afternoon and I just had the time to open it today because of a busy schedule.

It was shipped via LBC

Madoka Kyono from Rinne no Lagrange
Aozaki Aoko from Mahou Tsukai no Yoru
The school semester will end this week so I will be having the time to review these figures later on when I am done with my student grades. But this week I will be updating the final of my Deathscythe WIP that I have been doing for about 3weeks already. I will post it once totally done. That's it for now. Thanks for your time.

WIP Part 6: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Deathscythe EW: Inner Frames Detailing

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 7 |

Woooooooo! Just got time to have the final detailing on the Inner Frames and took some quick shots to show the updates. I tried to do the detailing roughly and not accurate because I wanted it to be like that. Here are the shots I took this afternoon.

WIP Part 5: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Deathscythe EW: Inner Frames Dry Brushing

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 6 | Part 7 |

Phew... I started this WIP Tuesday and finished Thursday. It is really a bothersome for a working man to focus on the Hobby because of the real work. But, what's great here is that I can buy these things for my Hobby because of that real work ^_^.

In this WIP, I do the dry brushing of the inner frames and it is my favorite painting technique by far. I have been doing this for the 4th time and I still can't resist on overdoing it. Dry brushing is used to be a brushing technique using just a small amount of paint and near to almost nothing. The effect is that you will be adding depth at the edges of a certain part you are applying the technique. What I have done here is that I intentionally over do the dry brushing which makes it look like scratches done on the inner frame. I am pretty much satisfied with my work and what's easy here is you don't have to be accurate on the dry brushing. The paint I always use is Tamiya Silver Leaf. Here are some pictures I took after I finished working today:

WIP Part 4: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Deathscythe EW: Inner Frames Assemble

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 5Part 6 | Part 7 |

Here is the first Update of my actual Deathscythe WIP. I have done trimming the parts as well as cleaning the nub mark last Thursday. And I had the chance to assemble it because of the long weekend. Here's the parts and the assembling of the inner frames.

WIP Part 3: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Deathscythe EW: Manual Preview

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 4Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 |

Here is the Manual Scans for the MG Deathscythe. I used my new scanner but now it only works with an automatic 300 DPI unlike with my past scans which has the highest of 600 DPI. Though they are almost the same the only difference is that the scanner will automatically clear blank spaces on the sides of the material you are scanning which sometimes removing parts of the Manual which doesn't have a color on the sides.

WIP Part 1: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Deathscythe EW: Box Preview

Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 |

It has been a long time since my last WIP. I have been busy nowadays because I am already teaching in the College but because of that I had the chance to have a free time and make it as my WIP session. Now I will be doing my MG Deathscythe EW that I got it way back in February.

The box had some dents because of the shipping but still it is in a decent condition. As I said before, the box is relative to the box of most of the MG Wing Endless Waltz Kits. Here are the shots of the whole box:

Package No.24

At last, my most awaited item is here. I have been searching for this for over 6 months because I forgot to pre-order it before it was released on January 2013. Luckily, I had encountered some helpful friends to help me find and get this Item. It was bought in Singapore by a friend and was taken back here in the Philippines when he had a vacation and dropped to another friend who took care of shipping it to me.

Hopefully this time I won't get same Mobile Suits just like I had in Volume 1 & 2, so I won't be hunting it anymore. Because looking for a single item from the set are hard to find and sometimes it will be like doubled or tripled the price of the set itself. I will get to review this later tonight and post it tomorrow and let's see if I can get all the 8 different Mobile Suits in this set. That's it for now. Thanks for your time.

Restoration Part 10: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam EW ver. Ka

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 |

Heres an update for what will I do with the Wing Gundam ver. Ka I acquired recently.

Mainly, this is the reason why I need the extra parts.
What happened here is that after I finished assembling my Wing Gundam custom painted,
I noticed that the leg joint was too loose and I got a bad idea to tighten it.
A noob idea was made and I ended up destroying the pegs on the middle part of the leg joint for both legs.

Next is that I am missing this white part that you can see in the picture.
So I took it from the extra parts too.

When the time I accidentally destroyed the leg frames, I tried scribing some leg armor parts that didn't turn out that well so I will seal it again with some putty to make it normal again.

After some sanding I think it is back to normal.
Tomorrow, I will be checking it again to look closely if there are any uneven parts which I cannot see tonight because I don't have a bright lamp with me.
Hopefully, I will proceed with the painting of these parts when I have time after school. And I am still looking for the waterslide decals for the Wing Gundam ver. Ka. Maybe someone from the viewers might know where I can buy it in the Philippines only. Just comment below so I will know. That's it for now. Thanks for your time.
