WIP Part 8: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Proto Zero EW [Finished]

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 |

So here is the final part of this Month long Project that I have surely loved. I have uploaded these images awhile ago in Facebook and now I am officially posting it in my blog too.

What I did in this last part was applying all the Stickers and Decals based on the manual (I often not follow the Manual for positioning most of the Marking stickers). I took like 2 sessions before finishing the application of marking stickers. After that I Sprayed it with Flat Clear to seal all what I have done to the Kit. Here are some photos for us to enjoy which I did earlier today:

WIP Part 7: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Proto Zero EW: Enamel Wash and Weathering

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 8 |

I finished this progress last Saturday and I only have the time to post this update now because of busy and tight schedule. Lets proceed directly to what I have done in this progress.

First I sprayed Gloss Coat to all the parts I will be applying the Enamel Wash. I waited like 2-3 days to finish spraying and letting it dry. I made it in 2 batch of spray works.

After that, I started doing the Enamel wash. I hope I can do a bit of tutorial on how I do my Enamel Wash but I am not that confident with it now because I only use cheap Enamel Paint and Lighter Fluid which most of the time fails me. I am still not closing my mind in doing a tutorial for this so we will look forward to that Tutorial in the Future.

And finally, I continued on weathering it using my handy Weathering Master from Tamiya. Note that when I did the Enamel Wash it is also my initial weathering. Here are some photos I took once done this Progress.

WIP Part 6: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Proto Zero EW: Dry Brush and Details

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 7Part 8 |

After almost 2 weeks of doing this process, finally I have done it and I am pretty satisfied with the outcome. I had fun playing around with the articulation but I am kinda hesitant of moving them all the way because of the material they used in the inner frames (which I have mentioned in the WIP Part 5).

I also liked the way the Buster Rifle looks without the yellow parts. I looks nice with the hollowed part in the middle of the barrel. The hand manipulator for the Buster Rifle holds it tight and nicely which perfectly carrying and supports the heaviness of the Rifle itself. I haven't yet tested the Twin Buster Rifle on hand whether the arm can still handle the weight of it when combined.

I haven't yet assembled the Action Base that comes with this kit. I will try to play around using my extra Action Base 1 that I also used in my Tallgeese. Here are some pictures I took in different angles of the finished inner frames:

WIP Part 5: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Proto Zero EW: Parts Preparation

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 6Part 7 | Part 8 |

Before I do my usual dry brushing with the inner frames. I jump ahead in preparing the armor parts first to familiarize it more and see if there are adjustments I need to do before completely assembling it. Here they are:

WIP Part 3: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Proto Zero EW: Inner Frame Assemble

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 4Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 |

This has been my progress throughout the week. I've done this in 2 sessions because I am making my work as neat as possible. I also check the the construction carefully to lessen mistake when assembling the inner frames because I often interchange pieces specially for the Arm and Leg units since they are built in the same manner. So here goes the batch of photos I took while building the inner frames.

The gatling on the shoulders cannot be installed yet since it needs the container first before it can be mounted.

WIP Part 2: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Proto Zero EW: Manual Preview

Part 1 | Part 3Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 |

They still incorporate the basic EW Manuals for the past MG EW kits Bandai had released. Some familiar assembly guides are still there as I have experience building the Wing Gundam EW. A lot of new featured and changes on the constructions specially to the Leg unit. Here are the complete scan of the Manual:

WIP Part 1: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Proto Zero EW: Box Preview & Unboxing

Part 2Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 |

After some time focusing myself in doing my Day time job and my Online Toy Store, now is the time to start another Project and I think a Bird with Big Guns will satisfy me. This will be my summer WIP because after this I will be going back to my unfinished Projects till finishing them all.

Let's talk about this Kit. If you have remembered, I got this last December 2013. This kit is one of the most wanted of all Gundam Wing fans out there. They have been waiting for a long time along with the Tallgeese which was release a year ahead of this Kit. Now, they have some predictions on the MG Nataku EW and MG WZC 2.0. Hopefully another shocker will shock us for MG Wing kits Bandai will release.

WIP Part 8: Bandai MG 1/100 Tallgeese EW [Finished]

Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 |

Now after a few days working out with the Backpack, Tallgeese is finally done. I had a hard time checking whether I jumbled the backpack parts because I am seeing imperfection in the build. And after some clarifications and rundowns I got it correctly.

I also painted the thrusters for the backpack and back skirts with the usual chrome on the outside and red on the inside color scheme. It is just funny that when I was doing the painting, I accidentally lost the other back skirt thrusters somewhere that I couldn't find it for 2 days, just to find out it was just sitting on my tool box.

By the way, this kit is completely done with the Top coat. Here are some photos I have taken after the finishing it off.

WIP Part 7: Bandai MG 1/100 Tallgeese EW: Complete Head, Body and Waist

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 8 |

Been working this for the past few weeks and now I am almost halfway done for the overall progress. What I have finished (not yet top coated) are the Head, Body and Waist unit. I did the usual panel washing and weathering as well as the application of decals and markings.

I got curious with the clear part for the Eye, since in the images in the Manual and to the Box Art, the eyes there is in color blue which is not actually. At first I wanted to paint it in clear blue to get the same effect but throughout the process I didn't do it and I'd stick to the unpainted clear eye still is the best because of the foil sticker underneath the eyes.

WIP Part 4: Bandai MG 1/100 Tallgeese EW: Inner Frames Articulation Review

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 5Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 |

As I've said, before I proceed in Dry Brushing the Inner Frames I will be doing a bit of Articulation review first.

This Inner Frame is way different from my other Wing EW Kits.

WIP Part 3: Bandai MG 1/100 Tallgeese EW: Inner Frame Assemble

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 4Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 |

So here is the Inner Frame assemble. Basically, what I built here are those inner frames composed of the Gray Parts. But for this Kit, some inner frame parts are not in the Dark Gray color so this might lack of parts in terms of complete inner frame structures.

WIP Part 2: Bandai MG 1/100 Tallgeese EW: Manual Preview

Part 1 | Part 3Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 |

Here is the Manual Scans for MG Tallgeese EW. In terms of Manual layout, it has the same with the other MG Wing EW series kits and I liked it a lot that they made them all the same layout.

Part 2Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 |

Finally, after a few weeks of deciding whether which Kits I want to build next here it is now. I choose MG Tallgeese EW first because I had this for almost a year already and second I got excited with the new Knock-off Kit of Tallgeese III by Dragon Momoko. If I had some spare money, I might want to buy that Knock-off Kit along with the Shenlong Sword and Tallgeese Halberg and Lance (both Knock-off too). So much for that, here is the preview of the box art for MG Tallgeese EW and the Unboxing:

WIP Part 8: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam EW: [Finished]

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 |

At last, I finally finished on this WIP. I top coated it with Bosny Flat Clear a few days ago. I rushed it because I have been taking so long in completing this project. I made a risk on spraying it because I know that I might get Frosting and here it is. As you can see most of the parts got frost but not that much. I have retouched it with my weathering master and repanel lines some of the almost removed panel lines because of the frosting.

Here are some pictures I took today after the final retouch an panel lines:

WIP Part 7: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam EW: Almost Finished

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 8 |

Here is the complete weathered with markings Wing EW. Only 1 step to finishing this WIP. A flat coat will end this and I might add more weathering on the parts that I think a little bit clean than the other parts. I have pose it like that because I had problem posing it while in the action base holding the Buster Rifle point in front. I can't do the proper way on letting the Bustle Rifle hold onto the hand. I also found out that the left arm keeps on loosing from the shoulder when the shield is installed. After I apply flat coat I will try to fix it so it can hold all the weapons properly. Here are some shots I took on the New Years day.

WIP Part 6: Bandai MG 1/100 Wing Gundam EW: Already standing

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 7Part 8 |

Just a small update before the Christmas day hits. I worked on to the Leg and Head Unit to make the Wing stand and celebrate Xmas with the boy band. What's left to do here are the decals which I will be doing last before finally closing the WIP with flat coat.
