Review: Banpresto One Piece DX Figure The Grandline Children Volume 2 "Boa Hancock"

Hi guys! Doing a consecutive review for my latest figures. Still from One Piece Manga/Anime. It is Boa Hancock when she was a child. Manufactured by Banpresto with the series of One Piece Grandline Children.

I got this figure along with Ace. As usual, their version of child looks cute. I love their faces specially those big eyes.

The packaging is the same as Ace's 7x5 inches box. With similar marking on the front of the box you will see the Banpresto Logo on the upper right side and the Toei Gold Sticker on the lower right part. Some printing of the name Boa Hancock and the series The Grandline Children vol.2.

The right side of the box shows the Figures front. And some writing of One Piece and The Grandline Children.

Package No.5

Hello once again, I'm so sorry I cannot maintain the post in my blog. For those who have been following my post since the start of my blog. I've been doing some Gunpla works for a competition and part of the rules is not to show or the entry shouldn't be in the internet until the end of the competition. So, I hope you guys understand.

For now I have this in my Haul, Banpresto One Piece Grandline Children Volume 2 Ace & Boa. I got this from a friend who is working in Japan who happens to return in Philippines for a vacation. I haven't opened yet the figures itself. Here are some pictures of the packaging:

As usuall, LBC is my best recommended courier because of their packaging and handling of the item specially  for figures and gundams kits.

What's inside the LBC packaging is a thick black plastic bag.

Paint Research 2

Sorry guys for not posting back in few days, I've been busy in my work and been searching for my paints to be used on my WIP. I guess I have to continue on my Paint Research post since not all have been tackled in my first post.

Commonly, people who is into the hobby uses tools, paints, etc. what they've seen thru internet or those preferred for hobby use. Example of that is Tamiya Paints. Basically, we use these 2 kinds of bottled paint from Tamiya.

Acrylic | Enamel

Notice that the color are the same but you can distinguish its difference by the color type printed on the bottle. You can also differentiate it with the bottle size. Acrylic with the round bottle and Enamel with 4 sided bottle. Just a review back in my first post. Acrylic is Water base and Enamel is Oil base. I've seen problems in the internet regarding what to use in thinning Acrylic or Enamel paints. You can use lighter fluid for thinning Enamel paints or you can use the Tamiya X20. Watch out for the label for each bottle because Tamiya Enamel and Acrylic Thinners come in the same item code X20.

Of course you can use variety of paints for this hobby. There are so many paints out in the market with the same kind and are good too. You just have to learn on how to work with the paint and on what you are painting carefully. Because, this might damage your plastic.

Paint Research

Happy New Year guys, may we all have a Prosperous New Year. Before 2012 comes, I would like to share my research about Paints, specifically for Plastic painting.

There are types of paints we use in our plastic model when painting.
  1. Lacquer - Alcohol Base
  2. Enamel - Oil Base
  3. Acrylic - Water Base
Note: Of course, you cannot mix any combination of those paints.

When painting, you should know what to paint first. In this, always remember LEA. L = Lacquer, E = Enamel, A = Acrylic. For example you wanted to do Enamel Wash in your plastic parts, of course you'll be needing a Gloss Coat on the plastic before doing the wash. Here comes the LEA method:
  1. Gloss Coat = Lacquer
  2. Enamel Wash = Enamel
  3. Flat Coat/Gloss Coat = Acrylic

Simple Photobooth

For those who asked me about my photobooth I used in my recent Photoshoot. I am glad to show you my Workstation and Photobooth.

My Photobooth is made out of an illustration board, cut into 4 pieces and stick together using packaging tape. Actually it looks like a Quadrilateral shape from the top view. The item cost would be more or less 60PhP and you can buy the materials easily in different school supply stores near you anywhere in the world.

The light I used is only the main light of the Room itself, I think it is a 100Watts Florescent Bulb. Just enough to light up my whole photobooth and the subject to be photographed.

Some used tracing paper, some are silk cloth as background. It depends on the availability of the things you need.

You can also see my Markers and tools for making my GunPla on the right side of the Photobooth. On the monitor are the photo taken from the photoshoot recently.

So, that's all for now. I hope this will help you create your Photobooth just like mine. Or be more creative and do what is on your mind. Good luck guys and Love more GunPla!

Thank you for viewing.
