WIP Part 7: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Sandrock EW: Dry Brushing and Detailing

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 |

This is the best part I love the most. I had fun dry brushing and detailing the inner frame. I dry brushed all the inner frame, gun and the shotel holder showing that it was worn out. Done some random detailing just to show details on the frame.

Tools used:
Small Brush - for detailing
Stiff Brush - for dry brushing
Tamiya Acrylic Chrome Silver - for dry brushing
Tamiya Acrylic Leaf Gold - for detailing
Tamiya Acrylic Red - used in the thrusters inside.

WIP Part 6: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Sandrock EW: Backpack Inner Frame and Weapon Assemble

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 |

I am amazed on these MG Wing Series kit, because even the backpack do have inner frame too. I also assembled the Gun and the Shotel since they came in the same color as the inner frame. Here are the pictures upon assembling.

WIP Part 5: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Sandrock EW: Inner Frame Assemble

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 |

I start my WIP with assembling the inner frame.

Tools used:
X-acto Knife - to trim the and clear the remaining plastic from the runner
Side Cutter - cutting the parts away from the runner

WIP Part 4: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Sandrock EW: Washing-Drying the Runners

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 |

I always Wash the runners with a dish washing liquid specially if my WIP has to do with painting. I learned this from Gunpla TV's Syd Sked. Chemical residue may still be in the runners after molding. This residue might prevent the paint from sticking in the plastic specially if you are not sanding.

WIP Part 3: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Sandrock EW: Manual Preview

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 |

There are 20 pages including the Front and the Back page.

WIP Part 2: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Sandrock EW: Unboxing

Part 1 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 |

There are total of 17 runners including the polycaps,  3 sheets of stickers/decals and a Manual.

Thank you for viewing.

Back December 2011, I bought a MG Sandrock for the Hobbylink Japan Sci-Fi Modelling Competition. Though I didn't win, I am still happy because my work did get some credits from the people in facebook who have seen my work.

I've been hiding the WIP pictures just to follow the #1 rule in the competition "Entry must not appear in the Internet throughout the competition progress". Now, that the results are up, I would like to share the WIP for my MG Sandrock. Let us start with the box preview.

WIP Part 13: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms EW: Top Coat and Final Assemble [Finished]

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 |

Just finished top coating and took a rest after because I inhaled too much top coat. Yes it is sunny today, but the wind is kinda weird. Random changes in the wind blows that is why I inhaled some top coat. Here are some picture I took after the top coat and final assemble.

Tools I used:
Mr. Top Coat Flat
Alligator Clip + Barbecue Stick - to hold the parts
Styrofoam - to rest the barbecue stick for drying

WIP Part 12: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms EW: Pre-Assemble with Weathering and Decals

After 2days of putting decals and weathering. Here is the result.

Tools I used:
Tamiya Weathering Master Set C - for weathering
Uni Pin markers - to add up some panel lines I missed during Enamel Wash
Ruler - help me trace the decals upon cutting
Alligator Clip + Barbecue Stick - for holding the parts I am putting decals and weathering
Hobby Knife - for cutting the decals
Cotton Buds - for pressing the decals firmly into the parts

WIP Part 11: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms EW: Enamel Wash & Initial Weathering

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 12 | Part 13 |

After drying my gloss coat for almost 2 days. I added enamel wash and initial weathering to the armors parts. Here's what I used in my Enamel Wash. From eft to right:

#1 Cotton buds - Cleaning the excess from the enamel wash.
#2 Lotus Black Enamel - I think any Enamel will do for enamel wash.
#3 Lighter Fluid - I collected the Lighter Fluid into a small jar for easy transfer.
#4 Enamel Wash Mixture - I already made a mixture of my wash before starting.
#5 Barbecue Stick - For stirring the mixture.
#6 Fine Tip Paint Brush

WIP Part 10: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms EW: Gloss Coating

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 11 | Part 12 | Part 13 |

Just finished Gloss Coating the armors parts. Thanks to the sunny afternoon. I will let this dry overnight then proceed to Enamel Wash and a bit of initial weathering tomorrow. I used Bosny Clear Gloss No. 190 and some alligator clip with barbecue sticks to hold. I also used a piece of Styrofoam where I can rest the painted part for drying. Here are some pictures of the WIP.

WIP Part 9: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms EW: Preparing for Gloss Coating

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 | Part 13 |

Now that it is sunny, and I think no sign of rain to come. I prepared all my armor parts to be gloss coated later-on. Here are the pictures of the armor parts taken respectively according to which part.

WIP Part 8: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms EW: Dry Brushing and Detailing

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 | Part 13 |

Hi guys, I stopped my WIP back in a few days because I don't have the camera to use along with my WIP progress. Now, here is my latest progress of my WIP.

I used Tamiya Acrylic paints. Chrome Silver, Leaf Gold and Red. Here are the pictures while doing the WIP.

I painted the Backpack thrusters with Chrome Silver in the outside coat and Red in the inner core.

WIP Part 7: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms EW: Backpack Inner Frame and Weapons Assemble

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 | Part 13 |

In continuation of the Inner Frame assemble. I also built the backpack and the weapons. Here are some picture taken upon building it.

WIP Part 6: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms EW: Inner Frame Assemble

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 | Part 13 |

I always love assembling the Inner Frame first so I can do some detailing on before I assemble the armor parts. I find this very tricky to assemble because some of the non-inner frame parts are needed to be assembled first. Like the one one the missile pods on the shoulders. I didn't include the missiles parts first because I wanted to do some painting on to it. Here are some pictures I took upon assembling.

WIP Part 5: Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms EW: Washing-Drying the Runners

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 | Part 13 |

Basically, I always start my W.I.P. with washing the runners. I do this because I believe chemical residue is still on the plastic after the packaging of the KIT. This residue may prevent the paint from sticking on to the plastic itself.

I only use dish washing liquid and a sponge. Just lightly wipe the sponge around the surface of the plastic then rinse it at least 2 times. Then just set it aside to dry.

Review: Banpresto One Piece DX Figure The Grandline Lady Volume 1 "Jewelry Bonney"

Hi guys, here is my follow review for the Grandline Lady Volume 1. Now I'll be reviewing Jewelry Bonney. Still from One Piece Anime/Manga. Manufactured by Banpresto.

The packaging is more the same as Nami's Box. It's just the picture is Bonney with her name printed and her Insignia. I also research about Bonney, it says that she is the Captain of the Bonney Pirates. She is from South Blue and She is one of the Eleven Supernovas.

Review: Banpresto One Piece DX Figure The Grandline Lady Volume 1 "Nami"

Hi guys, sorry for the short delay of my latest items. I got busy and not feeling well. So here it is, from One Piece Anime/Manga. It's Nami of the Straw Hat pirates. This is manufactured by Banpresto with the series of One Piece Grandline Lady.

The packaging is more or like the same for the Grandline Children box. As the usual Grandline Series, you will have the banpresto logo on the upper right corner and the toei sticker on the lower right corner. Of course the picture of the Figure on the front under it is the series name and its volume. You can also see the insignia for Nami with the Jolly Roger skull.

The right side of the box shows the back picture of the figure.

Package No.7

Hi guys, I'm back with my latest items came earlier today. It is Banpresto One Piece Grandline Lady Volume 1 Nami & Bonney. I bought this last day in a bargain price because the owner is investing for a Gundam Model Kit. The deal turn out well since we talk in our own dialect "waray". Though he is residing in Cebu, he's originally from Eastern Samar. Here is the packaging.

I was given choices on what Courier will deliver the items for me. Air21 would be nice but it is 1 day late than LBC. So I choose LBC. I don't know if they handled it with care, since the box is slightly squeezed. Or maybe they taped the package so hard that's why the box was squeezed.

The figures box is wrapped inside with this black paper bag
